AI Search Features to Improve Access to the Design System

Explore practical ways to integrate AI-driven features, such as search or chatbot functionality, to improve access to the design system. The focus will be on gathering existing insights, sketch ideas, and create concepts aiming to enhance the system’s usability. This will be an exploratory task, using existing feedback from slack and other sources (?) and examples from similar systems.

Goals:

• Explore how AI can enhance accessibility and usability in the design system by referencing existing documentation.
• Create sketches for AI-driven features like search or chatbot interactions.
• Use insights from Slack, Figma, meetings, and Menti polls to inform concepts.

Tasks

• Collect and review user feedback to pinpoint specific challenges or needs AI could address.
• Synthesize user-feedback into problem/hypothesis pairs
• Explore UI creation with Windsurf IDE (Check out results here)
• Gather examples of simple, practical AI features (e.g., search suggestions, FAQs).
• Sketch concepts using design components for AI features
• Combine Search and Chat feature.
• Document findings to guide future discussions or refinements.

The 'search' field will understand if it should do just a contextual search and show preview and links of relevant source, or generate an answer using the various sources. Providing follow-up questions will be possible for both modes.
