I tried using the surface cluster with version 4.9, but I'm encountering an issue. Whenever I create the surface cluster, it automatically generates a paint weight that affects the geometry. Even if I manually adjust this paint weight, it produces the same effect.
I've attempted using the tool on different types of supports, rigs, and simple primitive geometries, but it yields the same result.
Expected behavior:
The Surface Cluster should smoothly bulge away from the selected surface, without discontinuity.
Actual behavior:
The deformations are not evaluating correctly and the bulge is not smooth.
Steps to Reproduce
Load Character Rig.
Select Vertex on the character rig mesh.
Run menu "mmSolver > General Tools > Create Surface Cluster".
Select the Surface Cluster locator controller and move it.
Toggle Parallel Rig Evaluation Playback Cache to see the correct evaluation momentarily.
Software Versions
mmSolver version: v0.4.9
Maya version: At least, Maya 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Operating System (OS): At least Windows, probably both Windows and Linux.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
Adds new features and replaces the old Maya-shader shader node approach.
The shader node was removed from the image plane.
This change is not backwards compatible with previous mmSolver releases
:(
New display shader features:
- Color Gain as RGB colour, not just float.
- Exposure adjustment.
- Gamma adjustment.
- Saturation adjustment.
- Soft-clip adjustment.
- Saturation Image Channel mode.
GitHub issue #254.
