Show username (or email) in search list

In large courses there are sometimes users with the same first and last names. It would be good to have the email or username showing as well, to differentiate these students.

I have a situation where we have lots of people with the same or similar names, and there is a risk of the user sending a message to the wrong person. If this could be changed so as to include the users email in the drop down selector, that would be really useful.

Hey Dave - Ideally we'd have some form of site level setting that lets the admin decide what to show there (a bit like the showuseridentity setting in core)

That's a shame. Sadly I am not a coder so cannot help with pull requests. Would it be a big thing to change? I may have a bit of budget that I could invest into this.
