I haven't seen this before. What launcher app are you using, maybe I can reproduce it with the same launcher?

If it happens again, could you open the app and scroll down, the app displays some information there like screen size. Might be interesting to see if those values stay the same.

I saw that Niagara supports rotating the home screen into landscape mode. Have you enabled this option in Niagara?

@cvzi, no (per bitpit.launcher/.settings.SettingsActivity):

Screenshot_20240906-095853

It's even disabled in com.android.settings.Settings$SmartAutoRotateSettingsActivity - adb shell settings get system accelerometer_rotation returns 0 (as does adb shell settings get system user_rotation, of course):

I just had this very temporarily appear immediately after I exited YouTube to my launcher, whilst the display rotated. Unlike #218 (comment), when it had finished rotating, it corrected itself. Consequently, you appear to be correct that it relates to screen rotation, @cvzi.

Note that automatic screen rotations remains disabled - this was manually invoked by making the YouTube video full-screen.

I have had this occur again:

image

This time, I had been browsing .DNG and .JPEG image and .MP4 video files via https://f-droid.org/repo/org.fossify.gallery_9.apk immediately beforehand.

Invoking DMLW reverted it:

1000012665.mp4

However, I don't know whether that was because I invoked DMLW, or whether I invoked a mere application.

Notably, I had not rotated the display. Consequently, my best estimation is that this bug relates to how immersive mode is handled.
