I don't have an Sony with Android software, so can't check what happens. Seems to be something specific to the Hulu app -> https://community.hulu.com/s/question/0D51L00006RU6Fh/hulu-no-longer-responsive-to-the-enterok-button-with-android-tv-remote-control Will leave this issue open as maybe someone has more info on this. |

Yea, it's odd. If I use the stock Sony remote while in the Hulu app, everything works fine. From that link, it appears that the issue is only with non-OEM remotes. Hopefully someone can chime in with more information. |

Describe the issue
I use media_player.braviatv_psk across several Lovelace cards. Most of the time, everything works as expected. However, when the TV is open to the Hulu app, the directional commands and the confirm command do not function. This behavior seemingly only occurs while in the Hulu app.
Expected behavior
When the Hulu app is launched, it opens to the "Who's watching?" screen, where you are supposed to select your user profile. I have several profiles. Using my Sony remote, I can scroll up and down through the profiles, and I can click the center button between the arrows to select one of the profiles.
However, the arrow keys and the confirm commands through this custom component do not work while in the Hulu app. At first, I thought it might be an issue with my custom Lovelace cards. However, I ran services directly in Developer Tools. I tried all of the following commands. None of them function while in the Hulu app. All of these commands function in other apps or on the TV home page.
media_player.braviatv_psk version
v0.3.7
Home Assistant Version
core-2021.3.4
supervisor-2021.03.6
Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
configuration.yaml
It's very strange that these commands function everywhere except in the Hulu app. I've thought it through but have not come up with any compelling hypotheses as to why this might be the case. And to be clear, some commands still work in the Hulu app. For example, I can call Home and get back to the home screen. I can call Help and get to the help screen. On the other hand, exit is another one that also does not work while in the Hulu app. It's seemingly random what works and what does not, but without the arrow keys and the confirm button, I'm unable to use the Hulu app without resorting to the physical remote.
