system: Macbook pro M1, Sonoma 14.2.1
what I did:

  1. clicked on generate new CA (default browser is not safari), successfully generated CA
  2. clicked on install CA, warned "The certificate can only be downloaded and installed using Safari, please make sure Safari is you default browser app."
  3. switched default browser to safari, clicked on install CA, same error message.
  4. clicked on generate CA again, got "Root CA has already existed."
  5. tried rename the root CA in my downloads folder to avoid issue in 4, but still get the same message when tried to generate CA.
  6. deleted the root CA, tried step 4, same result. Removed root CA from bin, tried step 4, same result.
  7. tried uninstall and reinstall quantumult X, didn't work either.

What can I do?
