This is currently only possible when opening web pages on the phone where you have installed the irma app. In that situation, you will be redirected to the irma app without having to scan a QR.
First, thanks for the tip to open web page on your phone to use the irma app without having to scan a qr-code. In some situation this could be a solution.
Will it be in the future possible to use irma by giving the app a verification token instead needing to scan a qr-code. In this case, people with a disability - who can't use there camera on a phone - could use the irma app fully.
My appologies for the late response. We are discussing this issue internally, but haven't yet settled on a concrete solution to implement in the future. For the time being, you could try to scan the qr code blind, although we understand this is less than ideal. The app is relatively lenient with the exact orientation/framing of the QR and vibrates when it succesfully recognizes, just move it about slowly. It also helps with the learning process of this if you get someone to help you the first few times to get the best orientation. Again, we fully realize that it is not ideal, and we are looking at better solutions, but we hope that this will help you out until we can provide such a better solution.

Hi,
Is there an accessibility option built-in in the irma app for people that can't use there camera on a smartphone?
It is possible to extract the data of a qr by software like zbar and it would be really nice if you can use this extracted as input in the irma app.
If there is an other way to authenticate without using a qr-code as input, let me know
