We are working on a usage statistics system for contao, see https://github.com/contao-community-alliance/usage-statistic-client and https://github.com/contao-community-alliance/usage-statistic-server.
We want to "force" the users to install the https://github.com/contao-community-alliance/usage-statistic-client through an update step in the new update assistant (it is still optional for privacy reason).
