The custom avatar guide is very frustrating when it comes to trying to do the Animations: It's Alive segment. There is no tutorial out there that covers this and your guide just blatantly ignores key steps on how to start this process. You can't just throw advanced unity keywords with limited photos showing a step that starts like 2/3 of the way through the process. Like for example how do you map the animations? How do you get blendshapes to work with said animator??? Where do you put the event manager?!? Simple stuff like this, and it's not even mentioned in the guide! As someone who isn't tooo engrained with unity knowledge and can't seem to find a simple solution to this, is FRUSTRATING! I've been searching the internet for beat saber avatar animation tutorials and their is just nothing. There is plenty of tutorials showing HOW to get an avatar into Beat Saber but none that show the animation portion! This portion of the guide is so lack luster and frustrating to interpret. Can someone please make a proper guide for this part or video? Please!

I get your frustration, and thanks for pointing this out.
I hope you understand that the wiki is sourced by community members and when this section was created back in the day the author targeted the guide to those who have experience with the software https://bsmg.wiki/models/avatars-guide.html#introduction

I'll see what could be done but in the mean time, I would assume the process would be relatively similar to other unity games. You could also drop by in the #pc-3d-modeling channel in the BSMG discord for specific questions on the process. Im sure some community members there would be happy to help.
