So especially if you are using miniconda, but even in conda, you have the following issue:

  1. To open the notebook you need to have jupyter open
  2. The environment build in the notebook doesn't seem to be installing jupyter? (maybe I'm missing something)
  3. Even if it did, you wouldn't be able to open the notebook to check (outside of github), because you don't have jupyter installed...

As previously discussed I don't really wanna change much here, so I think the least intervention approach is just going to add a command to install jupyter and then tell students to open the instructions in github?

Thoughts @philbiggin ?
