Why do you want to create a Chocolatey package? This is a very important question and I hope you have an answer for yourself! It's not necessarily fun, it's volunteered time, there's no glory. Understand all this before you start.

The best reason I can come up is to make a package is for a program that YOU use and want to make available for easy install by the Chocolatey community and yourself in the future. This creates ownership of the package by you. Please don't abandon it. Consider the package your child and you should plan on maintaining it. Check for updates to the program and create new packages for it when it becomes available.
