Create an aggregate index for holiday weather.
Use temperature, wind, wet days, cloud cover, etc for a holiday index.

That's exactly what I have in mind. Right now I save 12 screenshots (one per month) for each value and then edit the images to visually delete what looks to be outside of my thresholds. It's error-prone, very tedious and plus there's on zooming that way. It's so much work that I'm looking for ways to automate at least part of the effort.

I'm not fluent with Python, matplot, etc. but I am in software by trade so maybe I could contribute something here. How feasible do you think this could be? I might need a bit of hand-holding… We'd have to set min and/or max values for each variable we care about in this additional mode and then the map for the current month would be updated whenever any criteria is changed. I don't see how the result could be a gradient, so it'd be more of a yes/no overlay.
