Black Screen (no picture, only sound) with Nvidia RTX 2060 drivers #1690

Describe the bug
ares 1.41 x64, Nvidia RTX 2060 565.90 drivers (lastest), every other configuration option on the emulator is default

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open emulator
  2. Click on "open rom"
  3. See error

Expected behavior
To be able to see the picture of the loaded rom

does not apply in this case

What core/console are you trying to play? Have you tried across multiple cores? Have you tried different roms? Which ones?

Since the N64 is different as it requires Vulkan for using parallel-rdp, make sure Vulkan is working properly on your system.

Edit: What do you have configured in Settings > Drivers? And are you trying to use shaders as well?

Besides making sure you have the latest nvidia driver installed, I would also mention that if you have an integrated iGPU, you could try going into Device Manager and disabling the iGPU video driver and just leaving the 2060 enabled. Restart ares and see if N64 games work for you.
