Hello Fellow Audiogridders! Any advice for this?
I am on a Macbook Pro M1 Max 64gb RAM, Ventura 13.7, Ableton Live 12.1 - I am running Audiogridder 1.2 connected to Ableton Live locally, all on the same macbook. I created an orchestra project with about 30 instances of kontakt on different tracks, each hosted in Audiogridder, and it all worked fine when I created the project: I could add a track in Ableton, add an instance of audiogridder to that track, add kontakt to that instance of audiogridder and then load an instrument in kontakt, and it would play wonderfully in Ableton. I slowly crafted a nice, big orchestra templete, testing it as I went along.
I then saved the Ableton project, and when I opened ableton and reloaded the project a few minutes later, it's a no-go: I can see in the server monitor that all of the kontakt insrtances seems to load, but then in the ableton tracks, i'm getting a timeout message in each instance of audiogridder "the plugin did not load or timed out,", etc, and in the audiogridder monitor, i see that for every instance of kontakt, on the right column, every dot is either orange or red, and listed as not loaded. However, I can see very clearly in my activity monitor that all of the samples are loaded into RAM in audiogridder.
Now here's what is interesting. If I then delete all of the the tracks one by one on ableton and then un-delete them one by one (which takes forever with the RAM unloading and reloading), everything loads into each instance of audiogridder again with green 'ok' dots, and it works again. The problem is that this is not sustainable or useful.
There seems to be some sort of timeout when I first reload my ableton project with audiogridder and many instances of kontakt trying to get samples into RAM that kills it, perhaps? It doesn't seem to happen with smaller projects containing less kontakt instruments, but my main reason for using audiogridder is for large orchestra stuff! :)
Can someone offer a solution for this?
Happy Holidays!
All the best,
Max
