ERROR! Invalid callback for stdout specified: awx_display #1448
Comments
@cidrblock The ansible-doc -t callback -l |grep awx_display Still, grepping for awx_display on navigator source code did got few results, which makes me wonder if is not a real bug:
|
These error messages are caused because the /runner directory in the awx-ee image is not readable by the default uid 1000 that the awx-ee container runs under. The creator-ee image is running with uid 0 by default. awx-ee
creator-ee
You could try configuring the uid to 0 by setting the user id as an additional container-option.
|
I still get the same error, changing the uid did not help. We trying this on a Ubuntu Server (sort of Jump Host), which we use by connecting with VSCode and the SSH Remote extension. Connecting with "normal" SSH (without VSCode) also brings the same error. Running our playbooks locally inside Ubuntu WSL works like expected. (awx-ee image without any options) |
I got the same error message when trying to use ansible-builder 3.0.0 with latest ansible-runner and ansible-navigator with podman (https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.crypto/actions/runs/5027516137). When switching to docker (for both image building and EE execution) the problem went away. |
confirming this is an issue with builder 3 |
version 3.3.1 of ansible-navigator was just released upstream, mind giving it a run and letting us know if it's better (or worse) :) |
@cidrblock the 3.3.1 release will only happen if someone approves the release workflow: https://github.com/ansible/ansible-navigator/actions/runs/5032141300 |
TY @felixfontein we disabled the need for approval elsewhere, not sure how it got missed. anyway, it's up https://pypi.org/project/ansible-navigator/3.3.1/ |
I've tried to use podman instead of docker in ansible-collections/community.sops#144 with the new release, and it worked fine for me! |
Hey @davidgleiss, ansible-navigator 3.3.1 was released, which sets the |
Hi, thanks to all for the effort! I just tested version 3.3.1 with podman and it works, I'm very happy about that :) One "issue" I face now is that I need to sudo ansible-navigator, otherwhise podman cannot pull the image due to this error:
I found this instruction on how to run podman rootless: https://github.com/containers/podman/blob/main/docs/tutorials/rootless_tutorial.md Thanks again! |
I just found the solution to the podman error: containers/podman#12715 (comment)
Now ansible-navigator runs fine without sudo. |
Thanks @davidgleiss for further investigating this, I'm glad its working now! |
