Philosophy
AP wants to be fun, but it also wants to meet player expectations. Mind-controlled enemies should generally work, and it's preferable for bosses to not be mind-controllable. We also have a history of minimizing changes to vanilla interactions, so we want to analyze how much impact this will have
Issues
Maar is buggy once mind-controlled. It is impossible to mind-control him in vanilla, and the heroic tag would not impact any abilities available in vanilla
Solution 1: Make Maar heroic
Solution 2: Fix Maar's abilities to behave properly (e.g. Blast can target minerals, abilities lack a cooldown)
Motherships lack the heroic tag
on Trouble in Paradise, Maw of the Void, and Safe Haven
In modern melee, motherships have the heroic tag to avoid infestor mind-control, so this is within player expectation
These motherships can't be mind-controlled in vanilla, but this will have impact on stun abilities like Ultrasonic Pulse and Flashbang Grenades
Solution 1: Make motherships heroic
Solution 2: leave as-is
Solution 3: Make them immune to mind-control through a custom validator to leave stun characteristics the same
Hybrid on IUD can be mind-controlled
This feels wrong, and doesn't match later lotv hybrid, which are heroic
IUD hybrid must still be liftable
Solution 1: Make them immune to mind-control (possibly with Frenzy or a custom validator)
Interference Matrix trivializes Kerrigan and can be buggy
Kerrigan can become unable to deep-tunnel back on losing health
Solution: Have the trigger remove IM debuff on kerrigan before deep tunneling
Recommend making IM have less duration vs heroic (e.g. 5s instead of 15s)
Alternate solution: Make IM unable to target heroic (less player option, but Ravens are already strong)
Disables / debuffs vs Heroic
Recommend reducing duration / effect vs heroic for:
Lockdown
Interference Matrix (see above)
Note: Thor 330mm Barrage cannon can stun heroic but everyone seems cool with it. It has good risk/reward vs kerrigan with Implosion, at least
