Hello,

I have Debian Bookworm on my Thinkpad, KDE/Wayland by default (via Intel GPU) on TTY1, and nvidia-xrun with Openbox on TTY2.

While on TTY2, some apps (like terminal emulator, glxgears, Konqueror) are running normally, but some (like nvidia-settings, Google Chrome) are not displaying, but I can see it on (default) TTY1.

I found that echo $DISPLAY is :1 on TTY1 and :2 on TTY2, so I tried DISPLAY=:2 nvidia-settings - with no luck, it's still only visible on default TTY1.

Please help!

I found this post.

GDK_BACKEND=x11 nvidia-settings works properly, while Chrome still tries to use existing session and still opens on TTY1, but it's not such a problem.

How could I set this var for nvidia-xrun exclusively? Any other solutions?
