Describe the bug
SteamVR fails to connect to the window manager on Kubuntu. Trying to run ALVR results in black void.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Use latest stable Kubuntu OS
Attempt to run SteamVR

System Information (please complete the following information):

Steam client version (build number): 1731433018
SteamVR version: 2.9.2 (beta)
Distribution: Kubuntu 24.10 x86_64
Steam runtime diagnostics: steam.txt
Steam and SteamVR logs: steam-logs.tar.gz
Minidumps: steam-minidumps.tar.gz
