Dropped series #861
Comments
Thanks, can you explain why you would want to know that? Also, why would you skip if not watching any newer episodes? |
It's the same as tracking the series you've seen: Why do you want to be able to easily see a list of all the series you've seen? Dropped series can't be placed in a watchlist, because you don't want to watch them anymore, nor can they be in your watched list since you have not finished them. You can visit myanimelist.com to see "dropped" list in action. I figured it'd be better if it was a filter as that's how SeriesGuide works. I use the skip function for series that I've dropped because there's nothing else I can do to separate them from the rest. Say, I watch a series until episode 4, at which point I decide to drop it. I skip the rest of the series in SeriesGuide to mark it as dropped. I don't skip episodes normally anyway, so I don't miss the proper use of this feature. |
Agreed. This feature would be quite handy. |
Would this cover movies as well? Or should I open another issue for that? For example you watched 30 minutes of a movie and you didn't like it, so you drop watching it. Also the movies(and TV series) that have been watched(or dropped) should have an icon to indicate that in my opinion. |
@CIAvash I agree. |
I noticed there's another case that requires this feature. When you've dropped a series, you still get updates, like new episode releases, on it as it's been added in your shows. If I stopped watching a show, I wouldn't want to know about its new season. |
@yephny In this case just hide a show. By default notifications for new episodes do not appear for hidden shows (this can be changed in notification settings). Otherwise, just turn off notifications for that show. |
Hiding works, thanks. |
It would be nice to have the show hidden also on trakt. |
There is no way to tell whether a series has been dropped by the user other than going to the series' Episodes page and checking whether there is a skipped icon. I'm not sure how this should be implemented, series that have their ending episodes skipped could be given a "Dropped" tag, for example. I don't know how this tag could work in tandem with the current show filtering feature.
