Currently, NAV will not run on Debian 9, it requires Python 3.9, so the guide should be up-to-date with at least Debian 11. We also expect to be compatible with Python 3.11 by the end of the year, in which case the guide could be updated to Debian 12 (Bookworm).

It should be relatively easy to update the guide by trying a run-through on a debian:bullseye Docker image.
