The execution of the Edge "created" is not computer independent, in the sense that it follows internet options and policies.
For example, if there is a policy to open a given page and not retaining previous session (tabs), the created Edge follows that (local) configuration.
Please change to allow use of portable configuration. (I looked for that to no avail...)

I think because the edge policies are here: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
I checked in edge://policy/ and it used the same group policies from my organisation - the same restrictions and shows as enrolled in my organisations domain. Also shows this at bottom of menu:
and for people seeking out a portable version of edge to bypass organisation barriers - normally HKEY LOCAL MACHINE is locked down (requires admin rights)
There is something around policy templates in this updater which could possibly fix the issue but I can't figure out how to use it!
