Although it is not our task to create these, I think we should, at as early a stage as possible, be involved with the coordination of the creation of these guides (be they videos or written guides). I have two arguments for this:

  1. Good (short, clear, concise) user guide (video's) will greatly enhance the usability of our tool and the project as a whole.
  2. The above will be realized at a minimum cost for us: displaying videos (or text) created by others is easy-peasy.

I am afraid, however, that the members of the beta annotation team will not start the process of creating these (in whatever form) before we meet them again. This issue, then, exists merely to remind us to start asking for these materials, i.e. to spark the process of their creation. Perhaps we should do this as early as January 2020. @jgonggrijp : what do you think?

I think we should take care to not take too much responsibility, but I think sending out reminders once in a while is fine.

As for who will be creating the guides/tutorials: I vaguely remember that Shaf offered to do this. Is that correct?

Indeed, Shaf did. Still I think we should remind the entire beta annotation team that he did, and that a process towards their creation should be started asap.

One question about this one: we plan to have this ready by October, but we won't actually make these tutorial videos? So the issue is more "send out a reminder to Shaf and annotators to make tutorial videos"?

I guess so, yes.
