Scenario to test when the user of Personal Best will receive pop-up messages such as when they reach their sub-goal/receive encouragement at 8:00pm and when they surpass their step goal for the day, prompting a suggestion to increase the goal for the future.

  1. Start the app by tapping the app icon. It is currently 8:34pm and this is the first time you opened the app since before 8pm.
  2. You have currently walked 4312 steps and you walked 3201 steps yesterday
  3. Instead of seeing only the normal home screen, you are presented with a popup with encouragement
  4. The pop-up says “You’ve increased your daily steps by over 1000 steps. Keep up the good work!”
  5. You dismiss the pop-up and see the normal homescreen
  6. After checking your count, you lock your phone, put it in your pocket, and proceed to run your errands.
  7. You end up walking an additional 710 steps, passing your goal of 5000.
  8. Before you sleep at 10:48pm, you start the app by tapping the app icon.
  9. Instead of seeing only the normal home screen, you are presented with a new “Congratulations” popup.
  10. The pop-up says “Congratulations! Do you want to set a new step goal?” with two options of “Yes” and “Not Now”
  11. You tap “Yes”, setting your new current step goal to be 5500, a 500 step increment.
  12. You turn press the home button on your phone, lock it, and go to sleep.
