Asus X201E sometimes not recognising usb sticks #1

If the bios recognises it as a uefi flash device only, it is failing to boot. It needs to recognise it as a flash uefi device. We have multiple laptops - some are recognising the usb as a generic flash out of the box. One isn't.

(note taking here so we have some history)

The one that wasn't - changing the sata mode from ahci to ide helped it. It now recognises it.

Question still there though - why did this one not work as the others did?

It is known but indicated in the readme

As far as I know, UEFI never works.

It looks like this issue is a matter of the drives only working reliably in certain USB ports.
It looks like the kinect also prefers certian ports.
