My wish is that the GUI "becomes" CasparCG Server, in the minds of 99.9% of users. Sure, some hardcore geeks may shun a GUI, but I've had to instruct really seasoned CCG pros how to show DIAG and other basic features, just because they are not apparent and intuitive.
Part 1 of that is to emulate the look of Client 2.0 in terms of UI controls. I'll need to look back at the features I've suggested to Duncan, and I'll post them here in my suggested priority order.

So, yes, mainly I like this direction, but with a modified look (I have a few ideas for something really cool-looking) and without the name "Configurator" and instead calling it "CasparCG Server 2.0.4" as this is the GUI part of the console-based "CasparCG Server 2.0.4." :)

Perhaps I'm being very radical, but "Restart" is the only Server control I'd like to have. Start the GUI and the Console starts, quit the GUI and the Console quits. Being able to have the GUI running while the Server is stopped is counter-intuitive, me thinks...
