For CD Cataloguing and Processing</B></FONT></FONT></P>
</UL>
<P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">First you need to
catalogue the CD:</FONT></P>
<OL>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Select <B>New
Entry</B>. Use title or artist as keyword and search. The first screen
shows matches already catalogued. </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">If the CD you
have shows up here then a copy is already in the library - please
don't process this CD - simply return it to the admin office with a
note saying "duplicate CD".</FONT></P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">If your CD isn't
shown then enter the number of tracks on the CD in the little box
next to the <B>Create a New Entry</B> button and click that button.

<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Now fill in the
information and click <B>Save</B>.</FONT></P>
</OL>
<P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Now you need to MP3
the CD: </FONT>
</P>
<OL>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"><FONT SIZE=3>Click
on the <B>Computer</B> button (bottom left corner of the screen) and
click on <B>Grip</B> in the menu.</FONT></FONT></P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"><FONT SIZE=3>Insert
your CD and wait for the tracks to appear in the Grip window (it
goes grey while the track are read in).</FONT></FONT></P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"><FONT SIZE=3>Click
on the <B>Rip</B> tab at the top and paste or type the ID number
from the catalogue entry you have just saved into the <B>Disc Title</B>
box (about three quarters of the way down the Grip window). </FONT></FONT>

<LI><P LANG="en-GB" ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"><FONT SIZE=3>Now
click on the <B>Rip Only</B> button up the top. </FONT></FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB" ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"><FONT SIZE=3>Click
on <B>Yes</B> when the message <b> No tracks selected. Rip whole
CD</B> appears. The CD will eject when the CD is ripped.</FONT></FONT></P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB" ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"><FONT SIZE=3>To
rip another, insert it and wait until <B>Disc Title</B> changes to
<B>Unknown Disc</B> again, then put your new ID number in &
click on <B>Rip Only</B> again.</FONT></FONT></P>
<P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif"><FONT SIZE=3>Naturally,
don't change any settings in Grip or you will cause problems! I have
yet to make the settings reset each time you login!</FONT></FONT></P>
</OL>
<P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">While the CD is being
MP3ed, you can do the rest of the processing steps: </FONT>
</P>
<OL>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Put the white
sticker on the front cover as close as practicable to the top left
corner </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Use a big texta
to put the appropriate three-letter code on the sticker </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Use a big texta
to write 'stolen from three d radio' on the front cover </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Use a CD texta to
write 'Stolen from Three D Radio' on the CD. Never write on a CD
with anything other than a CD texta as normal texta ink can
permanently damage CDs. </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Use a gold texta
to put a dot at the top of the CD case spine so we know its been
added to the music catalogue. If it is a thin cardboard sleeve then
put a gold dot in the top left corner of the white sticker too. </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Put a second gold
dot on the BOTTOM of the spine to show that the CD has been MP3ed. </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Use a biro to add
info to white sticker such as cpa/female etc if appropriate. Put the
date at the bottom of the white sticker </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Put a green
sticker inside the case on the spine if it is a local release </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Put an orange
sticker inside the case on the spine if it is a compilation and/or
soundtrack release </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Put a yellow
sticker on the outside of the case on the spine and cover with a
piece of magic tape. (If it is not a new release CD but just new to
the station the put a black cross on the yellow sticker before
putting on the tape.) </FONT>
</P>
<LI><P LANG="en-GB"><FONT FACE="Arial, sans-serif">Click on Session
Report to check that the MP3 process worked - you should see OK in
the MP3 column for your CD. Congratulations: the CD is now ready to
go into new releases. </FONT>
