Allow deep linking to parentlounge/attendance.addnotification without supplying a studcode, e.g.
https://tass.example.edu/parentlounge/login.cfm?go={"target":"attendance.addnotification","prod_menu":"Y"}

This should then load the Student Absence Notification modal without any students ticked.

This option would allow for

One issue with this approach may be the disconnect between the student/s an absence is submitted for, and the student selected on the attendance history screen behind the modal, which would appear after submission. This could be solved with an "All Students" view like what's available in Academic Reports, Email Class Teachers, Illness Details and Medical Notes, or by bringing up the modal on the Parent Lounge Homepage where the Absences section already shows a list of pending notifications and button to add new.
