Synchronizing Settings in multiple devices #496
Comments
I think the unofficial clients can store their preferences themselves. At least that's how Freetube is doing with the Invidious API. I didn't even know that there were unofficial clients for piped API. |
I think the better solution is to somehow authorize Piped to use an external Nextcloud instance / some open-source standard, which can be used for this purpose and others too, like #371 (comment). |
Mmh how are you going to do for the people that don't have nextcloud? |
Would be useful. Such data will not be much and subscription data is what could be large and sensitive |
Seems like someone set a 50$ bounty for it: https://app.bountysource.com/issues/120148362-synchronizing-settings-in-multiple-devices |
Are there any plans to introduce this feature? I host my own instance, I do not use any other. I'd like to have my subscriptions, groups etc kept safely on my server and not on fragile browser-storage... |
It seems to be a common request. The problem I see is for non official clients that use the API.
