This could be a security issue since someone only needs to see the "AppLock" app on the homescreen, long-press it, and swipe up to uninstall AppLock. Many versions of android have a setting to "Hide apps" (it was under the homescreen settings for me). For the devices that don't have the hide apps setting, there are custom home launcher apps available on F-Droid which allow hiding of apps iirc.
I would like to propose the ability (maybe in combination with Root..) to hide the Applock, to hide the protected apps and make all of them invisible
