TSC meetings: @amanda11 to check on Slack if Jan 3rd ok for everyone, and ask who can host
3.8 release
All released, with blog and social media annoucements. Good activity related to the release announcements on social media.
Process was slow, documentation was good. Some access rights missed being granted at start. Suggestion to get more help on testing at the various stages to help the release mgr and assistant release mgr.
3.9 release
check if @rush-skills available to be release-mgr after being assistant for 3.8
need a volunteer for assistant release mgr
identified python 3.9 and python 3.10 support as key candidates for release. Especially given Ubuntu 18.04 EOL early 2023, and Ubuntu 22.04 requiring python 3.10. RHEL also dropping support for python 3.8 on EL8, in favour of python 3.9.
need to discuss at next meeting how we release 3.9 e.g. O/S packages, python packages, docker etc. Follow-up with pants discussion to see whether that helps us with the release process
