Hello,
a while back i asked about localization in #133

Apparently if the following packages with the kde desktop are installed (and there are no files in $HOME), automatically the system language which is chosen by the installation is used:

  • task-german
  • task-german-desktop
  • task-german-kde-desktop
  • locales-all

but i cannot chose packages in calamares upon install, but i thought this is possible.

And after install, the languages on login are not set to german after reboot, even after manual install.

and as i do not suggest that you do custom languages in different installers, i would propose you activate the possibility to select packages to be installed before the installation.

That should be possible: https://forum.endeavouros.com/uploads/default/original/2X/2/220c0330911fe6c3b657a62b1ccdd01a658f3117.png

I am also looking how to do this, but as you see, i have not that much time, but perhaps i can do a pull request in a month or so.

Hi there, thanks a lot for the suggestion. I would prefer to avoid making Calamares depend on online sources. I think this would be best left to documentation and the SpiralLinux language installation helper script via Synaptic.
