Is there a recommended way to create and use EVENT_TABLE

Hey there! I'm hoping you can help me out with something. I'm looking to formalize the creation and usage of the EVENT_TABLE through Terraform. Do you think it's possible to do so using the Snowflake provider? Thank you!

Hey, @eliavra. Thank you for reaching out to us.

We do not yet support event tables, but ultimately, we will support them. @sfc-gh-swinkler is currently working on event table support in our SDK, but this is just the first thing that must be done to support the event table in the provider. Later, we will still have to add it as the new resource/datasource; this probably won't happen before the first quarter of the following year.

Can you suggest a workaround, like running a SQL query through Terraform?

There are other providers like https://registry.terraform.io/providers/paultyng/sql/latest/docs or https://registry.terraform.io/providers/aidanmelen/snowsql/latest/docs which allow you to write custom SQL statements.

At some point, we will also introduce a generic SQL resource to run pure SnowSQL statements/queries. We are not there yet, though.

Another option is to run scripts outside Terraform: I imagine that terraform plan/apply is run as one of your CI/CD pipeline steps so that you can add custom scripts in the following step. This is not the endgame solution, but it can serve as a workaround now.
