Hello,
After executing these export statements try
At this point the software will compile. n.b.
I hope you find this to be helpful. Good luck with your compilation. Eric |
Thank you so much, can you redirect to me an answer where you would have provided instruction to install RapidCFD-dev. |
I don't think these instructions were written in one location on this repo yet, but I think the bits and pieces summarized above were located in various replies to issues. That's not optimal, of course, and probably why you had trouble finding a concise installation procedure. |
Hi Eric,
And when I run

Hi, The default install directory for RapidCFD-dev (and OpenFOAM as well) is in I haven't tried RapidCFD on AWS, and I don't install OpenFOAM or RapidCFD in my home directory, so I don't have personal experience here with solving the issue you are describing. Nonetheless, I will try to give you some pointers. If you don't have root or sudo privileges (probably not since you said you were in the cloud) to install RapidCFD in /opt, then maybe edit
Perhaps you can change the setting for
Or, you can also try the hint in the In any case, this is not a RapidCFD specific problem, it is a general OpenFOAM issue for compiling OpenFOAM in a non-standard location. You may find hints on the internet, including here or here. I hope you are able to resolve this problem. Good luck. Best regards, Eric |
Hello, I am not sure if you are showing errors in the screenshots. Unless I missed something, your pictures show warnings. Does compilation ever terminate early due to an error? I am guessing you are using a newer version of CUDA since some of the older Kepler GPU's are reported as deprecated by the compiler. I have some notes on compiling with newer versions of CUDA In #92. I have not yet tried the recently released CUDA 11.6 If you are indeed using a newer (i.e., > CUDA 11.1) version of CUDA and you are still having trouble compiling RapidCFD, is using an older version of CUDA an option? Good luck and hope you solve your compilation issues. Best regards, Eric |
Hi TonkomoLLC |
The compute capability of a Tesla V100 is 7.0. (so the referenced flag will be -arch=sm_70 in the wmake files) Thanks |
Thank you so much TonkomoLLC |
