Running Shoko server intermittently with shokofin? #1168

I've been advised kindly by the Discord server. In case anyone would like to know, it's not advised as library refreshes in jellyfin might cause issues if shokofin can't talk to a shoko server instance. Closing this discussion, bye |

Hello guys. I've had many troubles organizing my library of animes with jellyfin. I've heard plenty of good things about shoko, so I'd like to give it a try. For the moment, my files are on a NAS with jellyfin running on the same NAS. I know that running shoko server in a docker container is an option, but I'd like to offload some work on a computer that doesn't run 24/7.
Here's what I want to try: install shoko server on my windows PC (won't be powered on 24/7), create a drop folder on my NAS, drop my entire library in and let it transfer to the final library location. Then use shokofin to integrate with jellyfin.
Eventually, whenever I have new episodes, drop them in the drop folder and run shoko server once.
tl,dr, here's my question: Is it possible to run shokofin with an instance of shoko server that will be turned off most of the time?
Are there any cons to do this?
