Superpi Case and flashing red LED

Hi

I've tried a couple of these cases from Amazon, one the USB wasn't working and returned it. My issue is as follows:

Installed the script on Retropie 4.4, using a 3B+ board...reset works just fine and the script comes up, when I turn on the case it boots up just fine. When I turn off the case the LED is blinking red, i'm using the standard Cana kit power source. I have had the case shut down without the script in the past but i've also had the script run right after turning on the Pi and it worked just fine...after playing games for a bit is when this issue usually happens...could it be my SD card?
