In crop_diversity(), not sure if we want to include fruit and vegetables as well. If so, I usually merge the three columns crops_all, fruits_which, and vegetables_which and count the number of unique items.
In livestock_diversity(), there are some livestock listed in 'livestock' that are not in 'livestock_all'. I am not sure if it is an issue of data pre-processing, or if the information in 'livestock' can be trusted. But so far, I merge these two columns, and count the number of unique items to have the most inclusive list of livestock species kept by each household.
Ideally, I think it would be great if there would be only one column listing all crops, either 'crops' and 'crops_all' (I understood that crops_all is more inclusive than crops, right?); as well as one single column listing all livestock species, either 'livestock' and 'livestock_all'.
