After failing to suppress diffs with #76 i think this is impossible currently. UseStateForUnknown will suppress showing the value of tfid in terraform plan but changing tfid during Update() will result in an error.

You can leave this open as a future enhancement, or perhaps link it to a feature request with Terraform core itself, but I am not sure there is a path forward with the tools available to us now.
