HomeKit response for contact sensors issues BLE or API? #437

I bought SB contact sensors because of the motion/and sensor features. Added to HK but didn’t initially buy mini hub. Decided to purchase that for better integration but still seeing over a minute response time on sensor feedback to HK. I removed initial first sensor and installed hub and then readded and added 3 other contact sensors. See them in HK and setup an automation but so slow not sure it’s working right. Any things I should look for in configs. Should I create a child bridge, not very familiar with using those in HK. Thx |

Contact Sensors can only request an update every 30 seconds, so it doesn't put strain on the API. You could try BLE I will try to implement the webhook feature soon, which should make this better. |

Update, I purchased the hub and reset door sensors to use the bridge. I found after uninstalling homebridge plugin and reinstalling I was able to add all 3 of my sensors back in however the one sensor I initially setup as BLE keeps showing as another sensor in drop down devices and worried it’s messing up my automation. Any way to remove this? Is it cached somewhere? Thx |
