Allow big image files #91

Hi, thanks for letting us know. 25mb seems like a lot of data. Is there any way you could decrease that when collecting data? It will probably take a long time to upload. We can and do resize the images during upload, but they have to be uploaded first. Down-sampling is needed on the device before uploading I think |
Couldn't the shrinking been done by the app before upload if necessary? |
@martinstingl I'm not sure. 25mb seems incredibly large. Can you decrease quality? @sudoDeznit do you know or do you have any ideas? |
We can try to compress images on the app. for the start we can just compress images that are larger than our upload limit. |
Using the camera function inside OpenLitterMap there is no way to decrease the image resolution for me. |
Thanks for the report @martinstingl. OpenLitterMap is in development, we will try to address these issues in the next update |
My phone makes photos with 9248x6936 pixels in default mode which results in files > 25 MByte.
I failed to upload a picture with that size, the Upload button does not work.
If necessary please shrink them automatically.
