The ACTIVECONTRACTION subtype is meant to use the costa constitutive law with active mechanics and a time control loop. The motivation and equations behind this type of setup is not fully explained in the codes and is therefore unclear. Nevertheless, setting up the problem creates an error.

To reproduce the problem:

  • set up a finite elasticity equation set simulation with ACTIVECONTRACTION subtype.
  • set up the QUASISTATIC_FINITE_ELASTICITY subtype for the problem.

When run the program produces an error when setting up the solvers that the solver is not a nonlinear solver.
