Description of the desired feature

We had a discussion with Nathalie Z. chair of deep Argo. She is requesting a map showing the number of observation below 2000m with special specification on color, grid, etc.

Suggested solution

Here are the specification.

  • Follow 5*5 degree deep Argo grid
  • Consider all argo deep observations below 2000m only
  • Grey color the continent
  • Coverage map color rates:
    <6 : Black
    6 to 20 : Blue
    21 to 50: Yellow
    51 to 200: red
    201 to 500: pink
    above 500: purple

To compute that map we need a proper and agreed grid and a target.
This will be discussed with Nathalie Z. at next AST (March 2023).
