en.wikipedia.org:
The web page took 537 ms to load, used 44 requests, and weighed in at 299.0 kB.

ovirt.org (nice looking reference implementation of mediawiki strapping skin):
The web page took 6.26 s to load, used 27 requests, and weighed in at 318.3 kB.

(Tested using some random page speed test tool [http://tools.pingdom.com].)
(en.wikipedia.org feels fast while ovirt.org seems awfully slow.)

I've read somewhere, that there was a study. When page load takes longer than 2 seconds, 1 in 4 users is gone, when it takes more than 4 seconds, one in 3 users is gone.

Is it slow because of the skin?

Hi Patrick,

I do not think it is the page, the response time from oVirt is very
variable. I think it is related to the load we are putting on our
virtual resource, which is a container running on OpenShift.

We will work on improving oVirt performance, but you shouldn't assume
that the issue there is related to the theme.

Thanks,
Dave.

Couldn't it be slow because of #46 or #56?

Are there other users of strapping-mediawiki who have fast wiki response times?

I believe it's related to #46 or #47 . Upon testing my wiki with multiple page speed testers, it always complains about (render-blocking) Javascript and CSS.
