I have a couple of questions about the semantic layers offered / to be offered by TED. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask (for all of them) but this repo comes closest. I could write an email but then the discussion wouldn't be public and for others to contribute to or profit from.
Let's get into it.
I looked at the repo (and others), the examples, tests, the corresponding website, the ontology and issues, but I have a hard time understanding what data is accessible through the SPARQL endpoint / how to access it properly. Let me state some crude questions from my consumer view:
(1)
What's there? In the latest workshop presentation it sounded like the RDF representation was available for all notices (old TED XML as well as the new eForm plus all the historic data) and provided an abstract view that's rather easy to consume and not changing (as much as the XMLs do). But I have trouble finding a catalogue of what's there (the full ontology?) or at least querying it.
For example:
How would I get a list of all the publications from yesterday?
How would I get a list of all award notices from yesterday?
A user guide with plenty examples would come in very handy - one that requires nothing more but a basic knowledge of RDF/SPARQL and web tech. Plus some links for a deep dive into a catalogue of what's there.
Can you point me in the right direction if I missed something? Otherwise, what about we create a guide together while I learn to use the endpoint?
(2)
Is this the correct roadmap? Are we in / post Phase 3? Is the above mentioned endpoint stable and ready to use? It took me some time to find it. Why isn't it mentioned on the home page or on the API page?
(3)
Will data be available as soon as it is available via the UI / in lock-step with the XMLs? And how much of the historic data is already available?
