How to install .dli file? (2017 file) #8

As per the instructions, I copied the SMDImporter.dli (2017 version) into my Autodesk\3ds Max 2017\scripts directory but the pluggin is not recognized as a script that I can run (I don't even see it when I go to run it from 3dsMax).

The instructions mention about .dle files, so I am not sure if it is the same for .dli files.

Is there any chance you might help me figure this out?
