Timeouts don't work on some screens

I have menu timers enabled and the mode set to FREE PLAY. The timer on the music select screen forces a song to be chosen, but for example the timer on the individual and overall results screens count down to 0 then the countdown disappears, but no action is taken. It stays on that screen until I press start. I also think there should be a timeout on the title screen, perhaps with the timer hidden, so that the machine won't sit on the title screen indefinitely if someone presses start once. It should back out to the attract sequence after 10 or 20 seconds.
