Configuring an alert on a custom metric in New Relic means you need to know the name of the metric you want. For apache, metric names are defined in the plugin code. The format of a plugin metric when the metric is of type "gauge" is Component/<metric 'label'>[<metric 'suffix']. Using Apache Busy Workers as an example this is literally Component/Workers/Busy[workers].
