How to get less false motion triggers? #21367

Well I finally had enough of the IKEA PIR motion sensors and bought two of these combined PIR and mm wave radar human presence sensors: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/ZG-204ZM.html#tuya-zg-204zm I wanted to have battery operated sensors and these are also very cheap compared to the much better and much more expensive mm wave only sensors that I've seen reviews of. So far they seem to work very well and after some initial adjustments of the sensitivity level for both the PIR and the mm wave radar they work very well. The only issue that I don't like is that they take a bit too long to trigger and turn the lights on. I might try to change the QoS from 2 to 1 or 0 and maybe set them to "optimistic" to see if that speeds things up any. Otherwise I think I will have to buy pure mm wave sensors that are not battery operated and that use wifi instead of zigbee. |

I have multiple IKEA E1525/E1745 motion sensors and I get quite a few false triggers that cause the lights to turn on in different rooms.
How do others set things up to combat this?
I'm thinking of setting it up so that for example the bathroom lights can't trigger unless the hallway motion sensor also has been triggered. But then the problem is that if the hallway sensor hasn't triggered as it should, then the bathroom light will not turn on. It would also mean that the bathroom light would only turn on once and if it turns off while I'm in the shower, it wouldn't turn on again unless I go out in the hallway first.
Maybe I need to buy more expensive mm-wave sensors to get this to work more reliably?
