Geospatial Intelligence
Finding geolocation is not easy, there are obstacles when you want to find a location for example, limited resources, unclear data and the information you find is not valid. Here the detail
- The data you get is poor such as image quality, audio, etc.
- Lack of information and lack of valid information
- Lack of data sources such as satellite images, places that are rarely touched by satellites or services about satellites or GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
- Conflict areas, remote and secret areas that are rarely discussed by the public or visited by the public
- Your source of information is not real time, you need a lot of real time information and data to facilitate analysis.
- The large number of identical regions or areas and geographic information in a region (You need to understand each region in terms of geography, houses, settlements etc)
- Sources of data obtained at night or in the shadows (dim places)
- Reverse image, always use it such as Google Lens, Bing, Yandex and other things
- Knowing the image or media (IMINT) Understand the objects in the media. Is there a place name? People? Faces? And anything else you can use that clue?
- Exif or metadata, check the metadata on each file
- Improve the quality of your data such as using AI to clarify objects, editing skills and other things that help clarify objects
- Learn Geography
- Use satellite imagery and street view
- Use animation or 3D building to make it easier to find the POV of an object
- Leverage sun position and shadows
- Use OpenStreetMap for data mining (OSM Query or Overpass Query)
- Trying search historical image or satellite (wayback)
- Trying check nearby about the location (If you has found the location such as building, street name and etc)
- Find out about the place or region you want to know such as seasons, timezone, buildings, people (faces), language and other things
- Creating 3D simulation modeling such as AutoCAD and other platforms, this is useful for analyzing and playing with imagination to determine problems with the object
- Using AI & ML requires programming or coding skills, you can collect assets or datasets such as the geography of a country, faces, buildings and so on so that you can match the similarity of the image if it is not in Google, Bing or other data brokers
- Use Google Earth Pro airplane mode to see the characteristics of the world, this tends to be difficult and takes a long time
- Understand and practice frequently in a specific area (region), e.g. if you live in Singapore. You can do satellite analysis, travel directly, understand building objects, place names and areas, streets and others, then understand and remember each characteristic, you can also document and measure for needs if needed. Example as in the case below
Example case
NOTES I'm not doxing anyone this is just an example
Finding Location
1.First make sure you have see the details of the video
2.Then you will see that clue on the vidio
3.You can edit the vidio and play with frame by frame on vidio then zoom it on building
4.You will see the building name on left, building name is AIA
5.Check on maps
Chek detail the location
After that check on vidio again, on the left building on the vidio, you can see the AIA logo on right. On you maps move the compas and parsing the building and the AIA logo Found the angle vidio on camera
You can use other tools for view 3D maps eample on the photo
6.Verify the location, if you has found the location you can validated the building name ot that place using google review or other things
7.Found the review on maps
Flight mode to find building
