How to upgrade to latest laravel version?

Hello there, I'm trying to upgrade laravel version but composer doesnt let me:

When i change laravel framework to ^7.0 composer: Conclusion: don't install laravel/framework

The other packages have same error

@JeffreyWay I think upgrading this would make a great video series. This is close to a real world developer problem since so many companies wait years to finally update. A problem I face and often wonder if there is a better Way (pun intended)? I would love to see how you would handle this when faced with so many skipped major updates (Laravel, PHP, etc.) and it seems almost better to start over. I'm ready to follow along...
