Technical Meeting with PlatON Core Team on 7/12/21

ITM: Itheum Team PLT: PlatON Team

  • ITM: We asked them how we can port all the bulk data from red heart challenge to the Data and Compute nodes in PlatON
  • ITM: The bulk data will also contain personal data from the user's vault (gender etc)
  • ITM/PLT: set a goal to 1st work out how to load the data into the Data Nodes and then think about Compute
  • PLT: We should run our own "Data Node"; this is "under our network/domain" so we can secure as needed. We then need to also define some "meta data" and then this data and meta data is "broadcast to PlatON" in search for "jobs"
  • PLT: The "Data Node" is packaged as part of PlatON's Metis Framework. There will be a one-click installation of this node software and will have all we need. Needs around 8GB memory and the installation will be a compiled C/Go binary. They have concepts like "fighter (node software)" and "carrier (OS)" that all get loaded. This will be ready by end of December 2021
  • PLT: Once we have the Data Node running, we can load data into it via a "GUI data loader". Format is CSV and the 1st row needs to be the column name (like in RDMS). Encryption not really specified given it's in our domain.

Next Steps: Work with PlatON team to get the Data Node running and load the data in.
